Sgt. Ellerbe was born here August 21, 1943, a son of Brolie and Sarah Mildred Ratliff Ellerbe. He served 18 years in the Air Force and was assigned to Naples a year ago. He was a member of the church, sang in its boys' choir, and was a 1961 East High School graduate. There he was on the football and track teams. He was a sophomore in the University of Maryland's overseas branch.
Besides his parents of Youngstown, he leaves his wife, the former Wanda Wayne Lewis, whom he married in 1963; two sons, Jesse, with the Army in West Germany, and Charles E. in Naples; a daughter, Miss Ida Lynn at home; two brothers, William J. of Dover, Delaware, and Walter G. of Youngstown; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred J. Glover of Cleveland.
