Father was John Ridenhour. Killed in Franklin County on his land, Survey 161, Otters, MO. He was watering his white horse when an Osage Indian approached him and wanted the horse for his chief. When John didn't sale his horse, the man shot and killed John.

After long research on John Ridenhour, (Ritonaur, Reitenauer) His name and wife's name pop up in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in Lutheran Baptismal records, The German Church Records of Western Pennsylvania 1772-1791 Vol. 1, Paul Miller Ruff Page 5, Baptism of Anna Elisabetha and Johannes Philip. Page 11, Johannes, born April 6, 1778. There is a strong possibility he is related to the Klingenschmidt Family of Sept. 11th 1738, John Daniel Michael and wife Anna Christina Rientenauer.
