Henry Hossel, one of the leading citizens of West Salem, and prominent in the county, died at his home in West Salem last Thursday. He was born in Germany, June 14, 1847, and came to this country with his parents when he was eighteen years of age. In 1892 he married Earnestine Giese and they had six children: Omer, of near Sumner, Albert, West Salem, Daniel, Berryville, Mrs. Elsie Weagle, Berryville, Mrs. Myrtle Forney, Robinson, Mrs. Marie Chapman, Olney. Mr. Hossel lived on a farm near Berryville until about fourteen years ago when he moved to West Salem. Survived by his wife and six children. Funeral service held at the Moravian church in West Salem with burial in the Moravin cemetery.
