Norman Farnham Norman Farnham, 73, 2001 Connecticut Ave., died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1996, at Veterans Affairs Hospital, Little Rock, Ark., after a short illness. Mr. Farnham was born April 25, 1923, at Denver, Colo. He lived the past 20 years in Joplin, where he moved from Riverside, Calif. He was a carpenter who retired in 1976. He was a member of Carpenters Local No. 235 at Riverside. He was an Army veteran of World War II who received a Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge. He was in six major campaigns. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 554 at Riverside. He was an amateur radio operator and was a past president of Joplin Amateur Radio Club. Surviving are two sons, Richard Farnham, Joplin, and James Farnham, Claremore, Okla.; two daughters, Cindy Coats and Christine Farnham Reneau, both of Joplin; a sister, Elaine Bishop, Hemet, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The Rev. J.P. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
