John I. Beaver, 92, Nye Avenue, Pomeroy, died Thursday, May 5, 2009.

He was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Racine, son of the late Charles and Fannie Wolfe Beaver. He was retired, and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.

Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law: Coty Curtis of Gallipolis and Beverly (Dennis) Smith of Marcellus, Mich.; a son and daughter-in-law, John C. (Carolyn) Beaver of Pomeroy; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanora, six sisters and a great grandson, Trenton Owens.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Meigs Memory Gardens with James Satterfield officiating.

Friends may visit the family from 9 a.m. to noon at Ewing Funeral Home in Pomeroy.
