A former Wellington, Texas man, Floyd Estes Francis, 65, died at his home in Amarillo, Texas, Monday, June 6, 1977 after a year's illness. Mr. Francis was born in Batesville, Arkansas, Oct. ll, 19ll, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Francis.
He was married to Miss Birdie Judd of the Roundup community May 14, 1932. While living in Wellington, Texas he farmed, owned a gravel trucking business and two small grocery stores before moving to Amarillo, Texas in 1948. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, in which he held offices and was an usher and trustee for several years before retiring on account of bad health. He was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Birdie Judd Francis; one daughter, Mrs, Maurice McKeever; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters. A son, Loran Ray Francis, 21, died in 1956.
