Husband Herbert was the last to maintain the Schmidt Family Farm in Chardon Ohio with his wife Sylvia. Original Farm was 60 Acres purchase by his father Edward D. Schmidt and his two eldest sons George, Paul and Walter. Herbert built and sold two homes on the land prior to 1959. The farm was was sold as a 28 acre parcel by his wife, Sylvia, in 1972. They grew Maple Trees and harvested syrup for sale on a roadside stand various berries and baskets.
