Floretta H. Nelson Ames

Beloved mother and grandmother, Floretta Hansigne Nelson Ames, 79, 1749 American Park Cl., died Feb. 20, 1978, in a Salt Lake hospital.

Born Oct. 23, 1898, Mink Creek, Franklin County, Idaho, to Lars S. and Hansigne Erickson Nelson. Married to Orval (sic) L. Ames Oct. 1, 1924, Logan LDS Temple. He died Sept. 19, 1953. Served LDS mission to central states, 1919-1921. Served in primary more than 20 years, worked at Temple Square information center for nine years, active as an organist, chorister, teacher and singing mother.

Survivors: four sons and four daughters, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Barnard, Kearns; Mrs. Howard E. (Gleness) Cooper, Bennion; *, Taylorsville; Mrs. D. Russell (Imogene) Bevan, Edmonds, Wash.; Spencer O., Magna; *, Grantsville, Tooele County; *, Hunter; *, Granger; 35 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Leo Nelson, Ezra Larson, both Preston, Idaho; Mrs. Hannah Pearson, Mink Creek, Idaho.

Funeral services, Thursday, 1 p.m., at the Granger 14th LDS Ward chapel, 2100 W. 3100 South, Granger. Friends may call Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 South, Magna, Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., and Thursday one hour prior to services at the ward. Burial, Elysian Burial Gardens.
