LIVINGSTON - Graveside services for Clyde Lewis Clifton, 82, were held Saturday, March 9, 2002, from Peebles Cemetery, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating.
Mr. Clifton died Thursday, March 7, at his residence in Livingston.
He was born Nov. 27, 1919 in Rusk County, the son of B.G. and Mattie Mae Wood Clifton.
Mr. Clifton served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having enlisted on Jan. 6, 1941.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe Lynn Clifton; and brothers, Elmer Clifton and James Earl Clifton.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie; daughter, Doris Jean Nix of Henderson; daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and George Mann of Pt. Blank; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Janice Clifton of Goodrich and B.J. and Tonya Clifton of Houston; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and sister, Dorretta Dyson of Longview.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
