Services for Guadalupe "Wally" Acosta, 56, of Lufkin, were held July 15, in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services, with full military honors, followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Acosta was a Social Security advocate at Harviel, Inc. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the Iglesia Christian Bautista Church.

Survivors: wife, Ramona Acosta; daughter, Janie Acosta DeLaCruz, Patricia Acosta and Priscilla Maese; son, Guadalupe "Wally" Acosta, Jr.; mother, Juanita G. Garcia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruben and Martha Acosta, Flumencio and Belinda Constante, Jose and Charlene Constante; brothers, Rene Acosta and David Acosta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maria and Alex Madkins and Carmen and Morris Kyle; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Salome Espinoza, Alice and Freddy Martinez, Maggie and Robert Ramirez, Mary Jane and Daniel Rivera, Irma and Rogacoama Sarmiento and Lydia and Jose Lues Media; 8 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
