Larry Hughes was born to Christine Hughes and Leo Lawson in Los Angeles. He received his education in Los Angeles and attended Compton Community College. He became employed for the college in 1974 and remained there for 32 years. He was also employed with the Long Beach Public Transportation Company for 16 years. Many people were unaware of the fact that Larry worked two jobs simultaneously for several years!
Larry retired early because of diabetes and other health problems. He was hospitalized for several months and passed away peacefully in 2010.
Larry was a very kind and unassuming person. Unfortunately, some took advantage of his kindness.
