Glen Rock Mar 24 1922 Jacob Krout died this morning at 6:20 o'clock after an illness of several months, the result of cancer. He was 76 years of age. Mr. Krout leaves his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Roser, Glen Rock; two sons, Jacob krout Jr. Glen Rock and Paul Krout, Loganville. He was a mason by trade.
Glen Rock March 27 1922 Many relatives and friends today attended the funeral of Jacob B. Krout, held at the house at 10 a.m., after which the funeral party proceeded to Friedensaal's Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a member, where concluding obsequites took place. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. S. H. Culler, pastor of the Seven Valleys Lutheran charge, officiated.
My father said this was the last funeral by Geiple's of Glen Rock using a horse drawn hearse.
