DEATH OF M. H. DIXON
Died Suddenly on April 24 at the Laramie, Wyoming Hospital
News has been received here of the death of Marshal H. Dixon, a former resident of this county [Jasper] but who at the time of his death lived at Rockdale, Wyoming. Mr. Dixon died April 24, at the Home Hospital in Laramie of dropsy. He had been suffering somewhat from the disease for over a year and was taken in from his ranch on Rock Creek on Wednesday by his son, Alvy, and placed in the hospital for treatment where his death occurred the following Friday.
Mr. Dixon was 66 years of age and was born in Illinois. He moved to Jasper county after the war and went west in 1879. He finally settled on Rock Creek in 1888 where by thrift and industry he built up a fine and well stocked ranch in one of the most pleasing locations in the country. Besides his widow he leaves two sons and two daughters and a grand-daughter who has made her home with them.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church, but that denomination being without a pastor, the funeral was conducted at the Baptist church by the Rev. Warren Nice, and his body was laid at rest in the Laramie Cemetery.
Thus has passed to his rest a hard working, God fearing man; a loving husband and father who will be mourned not only by his bereaved family but by the whole community in which he lived.
