Mr. Dobbels died Friday at Trinity Medical center-East Campus, Moline.
He retired in 1984 as garage foreman after 36 years at International Harvester, East Moline. He then tended bar at East End Bolders Club, Moline.
He married Lenore Pollard in 1954 in Hawaii.
During the Korean War, he served in the Navy.
Mr. Dobbels was a member of East End Bolders Club, played rolle bolle and enjoyed boating.

Survivors include daughters, Lynette Poling, Moline; Vicky Lockett, East Moline; Katie Warner and Patty Mahalla, both of Silvis, Ill.; and Noreen Dobbels, West Bend, Wis.; a son, Rene, East Moline; 19 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; sisters, Betty Johannsen, Davenport; and Marion Groy, Vacaville, Calif.; a brother, Elmer, Richton Park, Ill.; and a special friend, Karen Sanders, East Moline.
