Chillicothe. Dec. 2 - Harold John Pettett, 45, died at the Ottawa sanitarium early Sunday morning.

Mr. Pettett was born in Streator May 14, 1900, the son of Harry J. and Nellie Lutz Pettett. He moved to Chillicothe with his parents at the age of 5 and attended both Chillicothe schools. Until his recent illness he operated an Oil Station in Chillicothe.

Mr. Pettett served as alderman and precinct committeeman and was a member of the Chillicothe High School board for two years. He was affiliated with the George Washington lodge of Masons, Number 222.

Surviving are his parents of Chillicothe, a daughter Lois, four sisters, Mrs. Harold C. Leipold of Ottawa, Mrs. Frank Hanley and Mrs. Vernon Golden of Chicago, and Miss Edythe Pettett of Chillicothe: three brothers, Percy L of Streator, Glenn H of Monmouth and Fred of Chillicothe.

Masonic services will be at the Anderson Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. L.J. Sailor will officiate and burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
