David A. Chandler was born in Belmont Co., Ohio, Aug. 3, 1842, and died at Belton, Mo., Dec. 11, 1917, age 75 years, 4 months and 8 days. He was one of ten children of which family his sister,
Mrs. Anna McCall is the only survivor.

He was married to Miss Emma M. Persons of Queensville, Ind., in 1867. To this union two sons were born, Earnest K. and Jean E.

Mr. Chandler came to Pleasant Hill from Ohio after his discharge from the army in 1865, then moved from there to the farm which was his home until his death. He and his good wife celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Oct. 1 of this year.

He united with the Baptist church when about twelve years of age. After his marriage he and his wife united with the Christian church. About forty seven years of his life were given in service to the church
of his choice, as a member of the official board, serving about twenty-three years as an elder.

What we may write does not change the life that has been lived for either good or ill, but there is a joy and satisfaction comes to Christian men and women as they think of such a life with his quiet faith and devotion to the things he believed were right. The world cannot help but be a better place in which to live because he has been here and we have known himl

The funeral services were held at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Thos. Hauser, former pastor
here, and Rev. T. C. Brammer of the local Baptist church.
