US Congressman. He engaged in mercantile pursuits and was one of the founders of the New York Delaware & Hudson Canal. In addition, he was a First Lieutenant of Cavalry, in the New York, Militia, director of the Middle District Bank of Kingston and served in the New York State Assembly in 1811. In 1813, he was elected as a Republican to the Thirteenth Congress, serving until 1815. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he member of the New York State Senate in 1822 and engaged in freighting goods until his death.
