Agnes Twitchell
Portage--Agnes E. Twitchel, 75, died Monday evening at her home.
Twitchell was born in Iowa, November 15, 1905 the daughter of Ferdinand and Augusta Nehring. She and her husband operated grocery stores in Waupun and Randolph before their retirement and moving to Portage. Twitchell was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, the Briggsville and Portage Senior Citizens, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Cleary Krech Post Auxiliary, the Order of the Eastern Star--Star of Bethlehem Chapter 100, and the Past Matrons.
Twitchell is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Simonson of Portage; a son, Larry Twitchell of Reedsburg; and seven grandchildren.
Twitchell was predeceased by her husband Theodore in 1972 and a son James Neubauer in 1966.
Funeral services will be on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the Port-Axtell Funeral home. The Rev. Robert Fritzmeier will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Port-Axell Funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and until the time of the services on Thursday. Star of Bethlehem chapter 100 O.E.S. will hold services Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
