Mrs. Celestia Loyall Newton Arps, widow of George L. Arps, and a daughter of the late George and Mrs. Celestia Newton, died Friday at 2 a.m. in her home, 401 Warren Crescent. She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Etheridge, and one son, Newton Arps, both of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Mrs. Grant Meade of Montgomery, Ala. and four great-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at noon by the Rev. Walton W. Davis, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family suggests that those who desire may contribute to the Heart Fund in memory of Mrs. Arps.
