Deceased Name: BEAM, LOUIE H. ""SARGE

BEAM, LOUIE H. ""SARGE,'' 74, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (Sept. 24, 1998) at home. Born in High Point, N.C., he was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired as a master sergeant and was a recipient of two Silver Stars, the Bronze Star for valor and multiple Purple Hearts. He worked with the St. Petersburg Fire Department for 22 years and was among the city's first paramedics. He was a life member of the B.F. Hickey Detachment of the Marine Corps League, the First Marine Division Association and the Purple Heart Association. He was an American Red Cross volunteer and instructor. Survivors include his wife, Katheryn; a son, Barry, St. Petersburg; two daughters, Kathyann Mahanke, Orlando, a nd Louise O"Rourke, Yelm, Wash.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Neptune Society, Palm Harbor.
