Mary was a devoted wife and mother, anda fierce protector of her family. She used her talents for painting, photography, gardening, drawing and organization to help her loved ones discover their own creative abilities. Her generous and loving heart, wicked sense of humor and her endless curiousity keps her happy and vibrant to the very end of her days.
Proceeding her in death was her husband of 57 years, Chester Robert Brooks, who passed away on February 17, 2003.
Survivors include her sister, Effie E. Brown and her husband Mark of Whidbey Island, Washington; her four children; Roberta (Bobbie) Brooks and her partner, Kellie Ann McCune of Columbus, Ohio; Charles Raymond Brooks of Yuma, Arizona; Koral Kay Johnston and her husband Larry Lee Johnston of San Diego, California; and David Oscar Brooks and his wife Amy Celeste Boisvert of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren: Heather Marie Roberts and her partner, Ray Laminack both of Yuma, Arizona; Andrew Scott Johnston, his wife Amber and their children, Cody and Ayden. And finally, by her loyal canine companion whom she rescued from the Humane Society....Amber.
