Dr. David K. Blossom, D.C., passed away Wednesday morning, October 13, 2010, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan with his family at his side.

He was a loving husband to Joy Loraine and a devoted father of Jeanne Marie Blossom Churnesky and Jim Coyle and Julie Ann Blossom Hunt and Greg. Grandchildren include Shawn Churnesky (wife Samantha and children Alex, Andy and Addie), Brian Churnesky, Jeremy Churnesky, Melanie Coyle, Jessica Hunt and Jacqueline Hunt.

Dr. David Blossom is the son of Drs. Claire and Thelma Blossom, long time residents of Vassar, Michigan. Brothers and spouses include Dr. Gordon Blossom, D.D., and Marion of Indiana; Dr. John Blossom, D.C., of Lansing; Dr. Aaron Blossom, D.C., and Mary of Swartz Creek; and Mr. Mark and Kathleen Blossom of Grand Haven. Local related Vassar families include Dr. Dan Blossom, D.C., and Kris; Michael and Sandy Blossom; and Rev. Thomas and Stacy Blossom.

David Blossom was born November 14, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army as sergeant from 1951-1953, then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He was a member of the Michigan State Chiropractic Association. He served his patients for 49 years, from 1961-2010 and was known in the community as a friend to all.

Dave and Joy have been Shaklee Key Coordinators for 34 years, leading a Shaklee family that spans the nation.

Dr. David Blossom lived a vibrant Christian faith. He served as a deacon, elder and teacher in his church. With loving concern, he often counseled and prayed with patients and spoke boldly of his Lord Jesus wherever he went. Everyone who knew "Dr. Dave" respected his godly character and enjoyed his witty personality. He loved Psalm 91 because it speaks of God's protection. Another favorite Bible verse was Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you."

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Saginaw Valley Community Church, in Saginaw, which will be officiated by Pastor Richard Sayad and nephew, Rev. Thomas Blossom.
