Mother of Elmer Lee "Sonny" Taylor and Ruby Lillian Taylor Bird. Both children were named after their parents.

She was a hard worker and very centered on her family. She was kind and gentle, but could be as tough as nails when she needed to be! She died from cancer caused by inhaling chemicals (Carbon Tetrachloride) at a sewing factory in Mesa.

According to her sister-in-law Dorothy (wife of Orla Sharp), Ruby and Elmer met at the home of Thelma Taylor Brown (Elmer's twin sister). Ruby was friends with Vivian Brown one of Thelma's daughters. They got married at he Justice of the Peace in Rockport, Aransas County, TX on May 7, 1942.
