Barbara A. Eads Combs

Barbara A. Eads Combs, 62, of Gallipolis, died Monday evening, November 3, 2003, at Holzer Medical Center.

She was born August 23, 1941, in Mason County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late James G. Eads and the late Inez Casto Eads Buckley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Garland Buckley; her husband, Denver Combs; a sister, Hilda Lemley; and by two grandchildren.

She was employed by and was a member of the Gallia County Senior Citizens.

She is survived by four children, Annette Haning of Bidwell, Robert (Becky) Hanning of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Kara Walker of Gallipolis, and Garland (Michele) Combs of Dayton; and seven stepchildren, Danny Murray and Fred Combs of Tennessee, Brenda and Joan Combs of Florida, Jan and Julie Combs of Dayton, and Linda Combs of Kentucky.

She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren: two brothers, Jack Eads of Texas, and Danny Buckley of Huntington, West Virginia; and a sister, Janice Lynn Miller of Lima.

Services will be 1 pm Friday, November 7, 2003, at the Waught-Halley-Wood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, November 6, 2003.

Pallbearers will be J L McCoy, David McCoy, Danny Greene, Bill Greene, David Boots and Mark Chaffin. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Crews, Charlie Eads and Jack McCoy.
