Funeral services for Mr. Aubrey Allen Girod, age 68, of Columbia, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Interment with full military honors followed in the Bethany Cemetery at Hebert.

Aubrey Allen Girod was born on May 10, 1929 in Columbia to the union of Alon Acie and Hazel Beatrice Potts Girod. He died Monday, January 19, 1998 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Girod was a retired Master Sergeant, having served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Glenda S. Girod of Columbia; one son, Bobby Girod of Baltimore, Maryland; one daughter, Wanda Herelevica of Mandeville; one step-daughter, Renae Nugent of Columbia; two brothers, Millard Girod and Bo Spikes, both of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Ward of West Monroe; three grandchildren and one great-grandson, Brandon Kirby of Columbia.

Pallbearers were: Jack Keahey, Jimmy Duff, Bob Harrelson, Pee Wee Gilmore, Shorty Bailes, and Danny Nugent.
