Karen Lee Henderson, 48, died July 28, 2003, at her home in Clatskanie.
She was born Nov. 14, 1954, in Portland to Daniel John and Marjorie Emma (Reynolds) Elbert Jr. She attended Rainier and Goble schools before graduating from Vernonia High School in 1973. She married Arthur H. Henderson on June 4, 1976, in Woodland, and they lived in Phoenix and Coos Bay, Ore., before moving to Clatskanie in 1994.
Mrs. Henderson was a caregiver for the Clatskanie Adult Care Center. She retired in 1996. She loved people and enjoyed crocheting, sewing and craft work.
She is survived by her husband at home; a daughter, Marjorie Henderson of Clatskanie; a brother, Daniel Elbert III of Rainier; four sisters, Melny Kendrick and Louise Manley, both of Arland, Ark., and Nora Laughlin and Audrey Brown, both of Rainier; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Green Mountain Cemetery on Larson Road in Rainier with past Ned Landers officiating.
