Emma married Joseph Hamlin on September 3, 1910.


Mrs. Emma Hamlin, 84, of 531 Varick St., died today in a local hospital.


Mrs. Hamlin was born in Fish Creek, daughter of Casper and Elizabeth Kline. She came to Utica 67 years ago. In 1910, in Rome, she was married to Joseph A. Hamlin. He died in 1947. Mrs. Hamlin was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its Alter- Rosary Society.


She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Josephine) Reilly of Sherrill; three sons, Capt. Joseph W. Hamlin with the Utica Fire Department, Charles E. and Paul J. both of Utica; two sisters, Mrs Albert (Anna) Goodhines of Utica and Mrs. John (Rose) Amann of Euclid, O. and a brother, Albert Kline of Utica.


The funeral will be at 8:30 Friday from the Heintz Funeral Home and at 9 from St. Joseph's Church where a solemn requiem Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow and Thursday. The Altar-Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 8 Thursday.
