John C. Enright was born November 6, 1932 to Thomas and Marie (Scherer) Enright of Timber Lake, SD. He passed away as the result of a massive heart attack on January 8, 2011 at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 2 days.
John attended rural grade school west of Timber Lake (Sprick School) and attended Timber Lake High School for 2 years, and completed his High School education while raising 4 boys and working. He ranched on Swan Creek east of Whitehorse, SD, during his late teens and early twenties.
In 1952 he married Rosemary Ellis of Gettysburg, SD. The couple had four sons; Patrick Thomas of Longmont, CO, Mark John of Rapid City, SD, Kenneth Duane of Minneapolis, MN, and Allan Lee of Indianapolis, IN.
John and Rose moved north of Timber Lake renting the old Jolly place. John worked at Scotts Service at that time. The couple moved to Hot Springs in 1956 where John managed a service station for the Mobil Oil Company. Later they moved to Fort Pierre, SD. John worked in Pierre for Petersen Motors and later Wegner Auto Co. of Pierre as a master mechanic for the remainder of his working career.
The couple retired in the mid-1990's and moved to Tombstone, AZ, where they lived at the time of John's death.
John is survived by his wife Rosemary, (The couple would have been married 60 years as of July 30, 2011) their four sons Patrick (Donna), Mark (Carol), Kenneth (Holly), and Allan; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Thomas William (Ellie) of Brigham City, UT, and Gary James (Felice) of Weston, MO; three nephews and three nieces.
John was a cancer survivor, but was in generally good health at the time of his sudden death.
