DOROTHY L. ARK, 93, of Camden, Ohio passed away at her home in Camden, January 11, 2011. The daughter of James Albert and Minnie Laura (Cooper) Ellis, she was born in Brown County, Ohio on September 21, 1917. She was married to Rodger B. Ark for 50 years. He preceded her in death in 1994. She is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Regina in 1945 as well as 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Dorothy was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church, taught Sunday School for many years and participated in many activities with the United Methodist Women's organization. She was a member of the Philomathean Club, was an avid reader and enjoyed working jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She and her husband owned and operated The Ark Dairy Bar in Camden from 1966 – 1981.

She is survived by five daughters and two sons; Diana (Duwayne) Lohrey, Joyce (Edward) Johnson, Robin (Gerry) Wood, Becky (Fred) Schmidt, Katie (Rick) Halter all of Camden, Rodger Ark of Wanchese, NC, and Tom (Pam) Ark of DeGraf, OH. Additionally, she has 17 grandchildren; Jason (Jackie) Lohrey, Jennifer (Jerran) Adkins, Russell Ark, Amanda Ark, Luke (fiancée Anne Samuelson) Johnson, Tim (Sommer) Johnson, Abby (Jon) Helsinger, Jeff Wood, Megan (TJ) Finney, Cassie (fiancée Tommy Simmons) Wood, Callie Wood, Adam (Carrie) Schmidt, Aaron (Shannon) Schmidt, Dorothy (Dave) Giffen, Erica (Terry) Ballinger, Gabe Halter and Sam Halter, two step grandchildren, Jenny (Nate) Simmons and Katie (Scott) Hill, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Camden United Methodist Church, 100 South Lafayette Street, Camden, Ohio with Fred Schmidt officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Nein - Barnes Funeral Home, 249 N. Main Street in Camden and one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be held in Enon Cemetery, Enon, Ohio at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
