Bessie Mae Kile was born on July 7, 1918 the daughter of George and Ida Braham Self in Howe, Oklahoma. Bessie was united in marriage with Elmer Robert Ables on July 19, 1935. She worked as a forms operator at a plastics manufacturing company, making records. Bessie was known for her great cooking, especially her homemade breads and rolls. She was always trying to feed someone. She enjoyed people and loved to visit, especially during the holidays. Bessie enjoyed taking care of her home and her garden. She made ceramics and also collected dolls.
Surviving to honor her memory are her sons; Edward D. Ables and wife Shelley of Belle Plaine, Kansas and Richard E. Ables and wife Joyce Ann of Zainesville, Oklahoma, daughters-in-law; Helen Ables, Mary Ables and Guinn Ables, 23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, sons; Bud "Sarge" Ables, Bob Ables, Leon Ables and Bill Ables and daughter Betty Joe( Ables) Kamrud.
