He is survived by Marge, his wife of 40 years; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey Ann and John Schlichting; grandson, Gunnar Thomas Schlichting; sister, Donna Blackburn; and many nieces and nephews.
A service with military honors will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, in Willamette National Cemetery. There will also be a service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 9800 S.E. 92nd Ave., Portland, followed by a reception.
