third son, Rupert Sackville Gwynne who was 1873 and was educated at Shrewsbury school and Pembroke College, Cambridge.
He was a barrister (Inner Temple) and Unionist MP for Eastbourne, 1910-1924. Rupert was appointed Financial Secretary to the War Office in 1923 but a promising political career was cut short by his early death in the following year (12 October 1924) at the age of 51. He was married on 3 May 1905 to Stella Ridley, the daughter of Matthew White Ridley, Viscount Ridley, and was survived by two daughters
