ARCHER CITY - Hazel Mullins, age 71, of Archer City passed away Saturday evening, May 20, 2006, in Wichita Falls. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. The daughter of C.E. " Jiggs" Brewer and Velma Fish Brewer and the late Coot Roberson, Hazel was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Archer City, Texas. She and Jess Mullins were married May 5, 1961, in Wichita Falls. She had lived in Archer City throughout her life, except when she lived in Duncanville, Texas, during the 1960s and 1970s. Hazel was a 1953 graduate of Archer City High School and then graduated from Midwestern State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She was employed as a teacher for the Newcastle ISD from 1984 until 1995. She then taught at the James V. Allred Prison System in Wichita Falls until her retirement in August 2000. Hazel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ira Jones Post No. 198 of the American Legion, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Post No. 2414 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dallas, Texas. Survivors include her husband, Jess of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Hawpe and husband John of Haslet, Texas; one son, Ron Mullins and wife Billie of Archer City; three grandsons, Charlie Post and wife Jeni of Wichita Falls, John Mullins of Archer City, and Travis Hawpe and wife Tennille of Seagoville, Texas; and one great-granddaughter, Rylee Post of Wichita Falls.
