Meg is survived by her mother and father, Jim and Terri (Cavo) Wasley of Holly Springs, NC; brother, Jake Wasley of Holly Springs, NC; her beloved pets, Syra and Reuben; grandmother, Peggy "Nanny" Wasley; grandparents, Jim and Terri Cavo; Aunt Jamie and Uncle Joe Oliver, cousin, Wesley; Aunt Anne and Uncle Scott Mourhess, cousins, Jackson and Sammy; Aunt Michelle and Uncle John Cavo, cousins, Emma, Taylor and Aidan.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Jim Wasley, affectionately called "Dodo" and Aunt Kim Wasley.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 17, 2011 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens in Fuquay Varina, NC. The family invites friends to a reception at the Parrish Hall after the burial where Meg's favorite foods will be served. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC. A prayer service will begin at 4:30 p.m. officiated by Pastor Ferguson of Holly Springs United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. "G" and the entire staff at Duke University Hospital and the staff at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island for the compassionate care they gave Meg. The family would also like to thank their many friends and family in Holly Springs, Apex and beyond for their outpouring of support for our Sweet Meg. We could have never traveled on this journey without you. Meg had a beautiful smile and a gentle, graceful way about her. She never once complained about her disease and fought with a quiet determination that made us all admire her. She will always be our hero and never forgotten. We love you Sweet Meg.
