Sarah C. Brinson was born in Andrew County, Missouri, in 1846. When she was a small child, her family moved to Winterset, Iowa, and afterward to Cass County, Nebraska, where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to William Linville Blair December 1, 1866, and for several years they made their home on a farm near Tabor, Mills County, Iowa. To this union were born two children, Alice A. and Alfred Owen. Mr. Blair and the two children preceded Sarah in death. She was survived by two grandchildren, Mrs. Vera Stull of Prosser, Nebraska, and Leonard Williams of Chino, California; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Having been widowed at such an early date (1873), Sarah eventually moved to live with her parents in Nickerson. She had lived in Nickerson for more than 30 years at the time of her death, when she was 88 years, nine months and 19 days old.
