BATESBURG-LEESVILLE - Services for J.C. "Pat" Kirkland Sr., 90, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Nazareth United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. The family suggests that those desiring may make memorials to Nazareth United Methodist Building Fund or Union Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Mr. "Pat" died Thursday, September 9, 1999. Born in Saluda Co., he was a son of the late Walter and Anna Boatwright Kirkland. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. Mr. Kirkland was the oldest male member of the United Methodist Men, the Church Historian, served on the Board of Trustees, and was instrumental in the construction of the present sanctuary.
Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Paul Riddle, Carolyn and Paul Quattlebaum, all of Batesburg-Leesville; daughter-in-law, Della Kirkland of Batesburg-Leesville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice Aull Kirkland; and a son, J.C. Kirkland Jr.
