WINCHESTER, Va. - Gentry C. "Bill" Belford, 67 of 198 Miller Road, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born May 3, 1929, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of Eva Belford.

He was a self-employed painter until his retirement in 1991.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 824.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Smith Belford; two daughters, Denise Belford Dodson of Frederick County, Va., and Lisha Bikle of Boonsboro; one half-brother Marshall Baker of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Joseph Donovan III will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gore, Va.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to p.m. at the funeral home.

As a bluegrass fiddle player, Bill worked in the bands of Benny & Vallie Cain, Bob Goff, Jack Fincham and others.
