Bernard died of sarcoma of the right kidney and pancreas when he was only 46 years old.

Ben Kemna Dead
On Sept. 15 at 11 p.m., Ben Kemna died after several months' illness with sarcoma, at the age of 46 years. He leaves to mourn, besides his wife, three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Josephina Stuckenschneider, The brothers are Frank, Theodore and Adolph, The children are Anton of Indiana, Wesley, and Raymond, at home.
The funeral took place Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. services being conducted by Rev. F. Bruch. Burial was made in St. Lawrence cemetery after a requiem high mass. Relative and friends and the St. Joseph Men's Sodality, of which he was a member, attended. He was a highly respected citizen and liked by all and always ready to lend a helping hand where needed. His passing is a deep regret to all. May his soul rest in peace. Gone but not forgotten.
