Fae R. (Daughenbaugh) Rabits, 90, formerly of rural Williamsburg, died Weds., Jan. 12, 2011 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born in Huston Twp., rural Martinsburg, to Earl & Gertrude (Smith) Daughenbaugh. She married John N. Rabits on July 15, 1945 and he died Aug. 7, 1977. Survived by daughters: Sally Allender & husband, Gerald, of Erie; Patricia Rabits, of Lexington, KY and Pamela Russell & partner, Sue Myers, of Cumberland, MD; 6 grandchildren: Jay Rabits (Heather); Kelly Carpenter (Keith); Bradley Allender; Craig Allender (C.J.); Jared Russell and Christopher Russell; 6 gr. grandchildren; sisters: Cleo Gambill & husband, Ted, of North East, MD and Lorraine Daughenbaugh, of rural Martinsburg; and brother, Byron & wife, Delores, of rural Martinsburg. Predeceased by son, John 'Bud', and sisters: Vivian Nevins, June Burns and Betty Lou Fissel. Fae was a 1937 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg, and a 1941 graduate of Juniata College, Huntingdon. She retired as an elementary school teacher from Williamsburg School Dist. in 1978 with 28 years service. Member, St. John's United Church of Christ, Martinsburg. Formerly was active in the Williamsburg Evergreens and Williamsburg Business & Professional Women's Club. Life member of the Blair County Historical Society. Bolger Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Interment, Salem Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
