        MRS. MARTHA EVANS, 78, DIES IN
                      HOSPITAL HERE


Mrs. Martha Melissa Evans, 78, of Harper, died at 6 a.m. yesterday in a local hospital following an extended illness. Born at Pax, Fayette County, Jan. 28, 1872, she was the daughter of the late James and Clarinda Bailey Williams. A resident of Harper most of her life, she was a member of the Sweeneyburg Baptist Church. Her husband, Isaac Evans, preceded her in death in March, 1950.

Survivors include two sons, Albert Evans, of MacArthur, and Frank Evans, of Skelton; two brothers, Ed Williams, of Pax, and David Williams, of Pax.

The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, when it will be taken to the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Church with the Rev. B. C. Jennings officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
