Fred Allen "Pickles" King, 66, died Tuesday morning, March 14, 2006, at his home. He was the husband of Nancy (Crowl) King, to whom he was married for 44 years. Born September 21, 1939, in Gettysburg, he was the son of Fred W. and E. Hope (Reaver) King of Littlestown.

Mr. King was a 1957 Littlestown High School Graduate and had attended Shippensburg University. He served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from 3M Co. of Westminster, Md., after 33 years of service. Mr. King was a member of St. Mary's United Church of Christ, Silver Run, Md.; and the American Indian Association, Harrisburg. His many hobbies included being a Bird Watcher, a Naturalist, a collector of Indian Artifacts, and an Artist, as well as enjoying fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Julie K. Markle of Hanover; two sons, Scott M. King of Andover, Minn., and Lenny J. King of Gettysburg; 10 grandchildren, Owen Markle, Aidan Markle, Jena King, Andrew King, Heather Puller, Cody Puller, Evan King, Erin King, Sarah King, and Noah King; and a sister, Janice Rebert of Gettysburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy A. King.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, with the Rev. Larry Douthwaite of Living Faith Evangelical Church, Littlestown, and the Rev. Dr. Richard W. Scott officiating. There will be no viewing. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care Services, Inc. (Hospice of the Good Shepherd), 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
