Janie May Riley of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2004, in Seattle. She was 82, born May 31, 1922, in Yakima, WA, to May (McCully) and Daniel Gilmore.

Janie married James W. Riley on July 12, 1942, in LaMoille, IL, who preceded her in death in 1996.

Janie was Co-Director of Child Evangelism of Whatcom Co. in the early 1960s. She was a cook at the Firs Bible & Missionary Conference from 1964-1976. She was a member of the Geneva Community Church, secretary of women's organizations in the 1970s, and was the Sunshine Chairwoman at Northlake Community Church for years. Janie enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, writing, and she loved flowers.

She is survived by her sons: Stephen R. and wife Betty J. Riley of KY, Joseph G. Riley of AK; daughters: Ruthanne and husband Randall Baldie, Maribeth and husband Robin Schwartz, all of OR; sisters: Opal Smith of CA and Mary Ann McDonald of AZ; and brother Dan Gilmore of WA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Whatcom County, 5186 3rd Ave., Ferndale, WA 98248.

An Inurnment Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 25th, at Bayview Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Northlake Community Church.
