Rufus Don Adams, 88, of Ironton, Ohio, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday morning, January 15, 2011, in River's Bend Health Care Center, South Point, Ohio.
He was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Ashland, Ky., to the late Charlie and Anna Kitchen Adams.
He retired from Armco after many years of service, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Charlie "Doc," Erskine "Babe," Milo and Bruce Adams, and sisters Cathleen, Josie, Charlotte and Blossom.
He is survived by a son, Billy, two daughters, Judy and Susie, a brother, Lowell Q. Adams of Ashland, Ky., and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A graveside service with full military honors by the U.S. Army and American Legion Kenova Post 93 will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
