A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late George William and Mary Almina Jakeman. She had lived in Portsmouth most of her life. She was a practical nurse. She was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. R. Pollock of Portsmouth; two sons, C. W. Adams Sr. of Portsmouth and George G. Adams of Lynnhaven; two sisters, Mrs. A. W. Armistead of Norfolk and Mrs. Lizzie Willis of Suffolk; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at Snellings Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
