Mike Reed Durfee, age 23, died September 26, 1987, from accidentally being electrocuted at his home in Long Beach.
Mike was born April 2, 1964, Salt Lake City, to G. Reed and Lorna Janet Jensen Durfee. Mike attended South High School. Elder in LDS Church, where he served a mission to Florida Tampa. He enjoyed health activities such as bike racing and running in the Deseret News Marathon. He was a free spirit who wanted to experience life for himself in soaring with the eagles.
Survived by his parents; grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Mark Pope, West Valley City; two brothers and three sisters, Vickie, Mrs. Joseph (Marianne) Apodaca, Mrs. Richard (Robin) Knight, all of Salt Lake City, Dennis and his wife, Krystyn Durfee, Logan, Lance, Salt Lake City, five nephews, three nieces.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon, Granger 24th Ward, 1500 West Parliament Avenue (3910 South 1410 West). Friends may call Thursday evening, 6 to 8 p.m., at the McDougal Golden Rule Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
