Deceased Name: Alan Dee Hoggard (The Ugly Sister)
Alan Dee Hoggard , son, brother, father and grandpa on November 29, 2000 passed on to the loving arms of his god and other family members who have been waiting for him.
Alan was born January 9, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Connie Richins and Russell Dee Hoggard .
Alan married his soul mate, Dawna Jean Lemmon Hoggard . They had two beautiful children, daughter, Alina Mariha May Hoggard and son, Alan Dee Hoggard Jr.
Alan loved the challenge of life itself. He was a giver, not a taker. Alan left a great legacy to the many lives he touched, he will be greatly missed by all. His family was his strength and greatest purpose.
Alan served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years. Alan had the opportunity of living in Alaska two years; he said it was so close to heaven that you could almost touch it, and now he has.
Alan is survived by his son, Alan Dee; daughter, Alina and grandson, Brennan Isaiah. He is also survived by his mother, Connie Richins and four sisters, Brenda Showalter, Evelyn (Steve) Saldarriaga, Wendy (Bret) Bateman and Esther Capp; nine nieces and nephews; grandparents, John and Esther Gilbert; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Alan is preceded in death by his father, Russell Dee Hoggard ; grandparents, Norma Jarvis, Russell Dudley Hoggard ; and the twinkle of his eye, great-grandma Lena Irene Henson and other family members.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 8, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. Funeral Directors: Valley View Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any Key Bank in Alan's honor.
