Mr. Adams was born in Bibb County to the late Shirley Joseph Adams, Jr. and Edythe Anderson Adams. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Inman. He was a lifelong member of Avondale Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the NRA. Mr. Adams retired after thirty two years service as a conductor with Southern Railroad.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jean Strong Adams of Macon; four daughters, Jan (Dale) Colquitt of Eatonton, Deby (Rob) Morton of Zebulon, Barbara (Alan) McKnight of Duluth, Della Kitchens of Macon; two step-sons, Boyce (Christy) Herndon of Macon, and William (Brooke) Herndon of Macon; fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two nieces and two nephews.
