In 1890 the family was living in Terre Haute, Indiana where his father was a Traveling Agent for Townley Stove Co.
In 1898, at the age of 13, George's mother died. A year later his father married Laura Thomas. In 1900 they were living in fashionable Indianapolis.
In 1910 George was a Hardware Commercial Traveler and lived with his father and stepmother in Indianapolis. According to my father, he was also a concert pianist.
At the age of 26, on July 5, 1911 in Indianapolis, George married Leone Wilson Kramer, a schoolteacher.
His first born, John Scott Griffin, was born in Dallas in August 1917; the baby lived only 18 days. George was a Sales Manager according to the birth certificate.
According to his September 1918 WWI registration he was medium height, slender built, with blue eyes and brown hair. At the time they were living in New Orleans at 2031 Octavia St; he was into auto accessories at Interstate Electric Co.
They moved to Chicago where he was into Auto Catalog-Compiling. Four months after the birth of his 2nd son, George Graph Griffin, he died from double pneumonia in Chicago during the great Flu Pandemic which lasted from June 1918 to December 1920.
He is buried in Terre Haute along side his mother, father, stepmother and sister.
His wife is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
