L. I. "Bally" Ballinger, 82, Rt. 1, died yesterday at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Marion. He had been ill several months.
A livelong(sic) resident of Converse, he was the son of Harmon and Mary Davis Ballinger. He was born on Jan. 4, 1894.
Mr. Ballinger was a member of the Amboy American Legion Post and was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving is his wife, Ida; one son, J.R. of Long Island, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Pearson of Anderson, Mrs. John Knox of Greenfield, and Mrs. Allen Cullen of Saratoga, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Private services will be Saturday at the Larrison-Martin Funeral Home in Converse. Burial will be in the Converse Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
