Larry Dean Trusty

Larry Dean Trusty, 65, of Sutherland passed away at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on Oct. 3, 2008. He was born March 30, 1943, to Hallie and Mable Strawder Trusty east of Wallace. He attended Wallace High School and graduated in 1961. He worked as a mechanic and at Oris Fuller Construction. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1963, and after his honorable discharge he came back to Wallace where he worked for Hansen''s Construction. On Jan. 3, 1968, he married Darlene Tillman in North Platte and they had four children. He worked for Kildare Lumber and also Griffin-Beatty Lumber. Eventually he started his own construction business, Trusty Construction. He was in Trusty Construction for 30 years. After retiring from his construction business he went to work for Gerald Gentleman Power Plant. He officially retired March 30 of this year.He loved farming with Greg Fleecs, running the corn picker and having his grandsons with him. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by many friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Darlene of Sutherland; children Jody (Gary) Grabowski of Chappell, Cody Trusty of Sutherland, Haly Trusty of Sutherland and L. Dean ?Friday? (Melissa) Trusty Jr. of Hershey; five grandsons; brother Clinton Trusty of Memphis, Tenn; sister Donna (Donald) Lundvall of Grant; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert, Leland, Sylvester, Allen and Roger; and sisters Virginia and Phyllis. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Services were Oct. 6 at Adams and Swanson Chapel. Burial was at the Wallace Cemetery with military honors graveside.
